CROSSTOWN BORN & BREWED

our founders, Will Goodwin and Clark Ortkiese, are passionate about two things: good beer and the incredible power of a cohesive community.  The activation of the Crosstown Concourse allowed them to merge their zeal for each into a unified whole.  While brewing the first of the test batches in Clark’s back yard, adjacent to the Concourse property, the construction noise of the early demolition at Concourse was a Siren’s call to action.

The promise of a new, vertical urban village with an emphasis on the arts, healthcare, and education was too much to resist and they accelerated their plans to build a brewery on the property.

Construction began in May of 2017 and in February of 2018 we finally opened our doors to the public and began to send our beers to the bars, restaurants, and retail stores of Memphis. Since then, we have expanded our distribution to accounts throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas.  Traffic and Siren have become staples of the Memphis beer landscape and our regular special release items continue to dazzle our fans, both old and new.

The taproom has become a place where we can visit with friends, enjoy some trivia, or listen to live music.  Close proximity to our Concourse neighbors like the Church Health Center, Choose901, Memphis Teacher Residency, WYXR Crosstown Radio, and a host of other civic minded groups has constantly reminded us of the work that remains to be done in this city and beyond.  By assisting them, and many others, in their efforts, we hope to continue to serve our community for many years to come.
